Refunds & Cancellation
Last updated September 1, 2026
The short version
Cancel any time, from inside the app, in about two clicks.
If you subscribed on our website: within 30 days of a charge, email hello@stroki.ai and we refund it. No forms, no retention script, no questions.
If you subscribed on your iPhone or iPad: Apple took the payment, so Apple issues the refund. Use Apple's "Report a Problem" page. We can't refund an Apple charge no matter how much we'd like to.
Cancelling never deletes anything you've made. Your history, vocabulary, and recaps stay on your device.
How to cancel
Open Stroki → Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription. Stroki knows where you bought your subscription and sends you to the right place: your Apple Account subscription settings for an App Store purchase, or our billing portal for a web purchase.
You can also cancel an App Store subscription directly, without opening Stroki: iOS Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Stroki. On a Mac, App Store → your name → Account Settings.
For web subscriptions you can also just email hello@stroki.ai and ask us to cancel it for you. We'd rather do that than have you hunting through menus.
What happens when you cancel
Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not cut you off on the spot — you keep Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for, and then Stroki reverts to the free tier.
The free tier is a real product, not a lockout. You keep your vocabulary, your full history, and usage stats, and dictation keeps working — unlimited on Mac, and within a weekly allowance on iPhone. What you lose are the Pro-only engines and the full Recaps feature set.
Nothing you've created is deleted, on our side or yours. Resubscribe later and your Pro features switch back on where you left them.
The 30-day refund (web purchases)
If Stroki isn't working out, email hello@stroki.ai within 30 days of the charge and we'll refund it in full. That applies to your first charge on either the monthly or the annual plan.
You don't need a reason, and we won't ask for one — though if you feel like telling us what went wrong, it genuinely helps us fix things.
Refunds go back to the original payment method. Our side is processed within two business days; how quickly it appears on your statement is up to your bank, and is usually five to ten business days.
App Store purchases
If you subscribed inside the iPhone or iPad app, Apple is the merchant of record. Apple holds the money and Apple decides refunds, under the App Store's own policy — our 30-day promise above cannot override it, and we have no button that issues one.
Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com, or through iOS Settings → tap your name → Media & Purchases → View Account → Purchase History. Apple usually answers within 48 hours.
Please tell us as well, at hello@stroki.ai. We can't move Apple's decision, but if something in Stroki caused it we want to know, and we can help you make the case.
After 30 days
This section, like the one above it, covers purchases made on our website. Beyond the 30-day window we don't automatically refund unused time on a monthly or annual term — cancelling stops future renewals instead.
There are exceptions and we apply them readily. If you were charged after cancelling, charged twice, charged for a renewal you clearly never used, or if a bug made Stroki unusable for a meaningful stretch of your term, write to us. We'd rather refund someone who deserves it than win an argument.
If we ever remove a significant Pro feature you're paying for, you can cancel and ask for a pro-rated refund of the remainder of your term.
Free trials
Creating a Stroki account starts a 14-day trial of Pro that needs no card. Nothing is charged during it, so there's nothing to refund and nothing to cancel. When it ends, Stroki drops to the free tier until you decide to subscribe.
The trial belongs to your account and runs once. Reinstalling, switching Macs, or signing in on a new iPhone doesn't start a second one.
Before you dispute a charge
If you see a Stroki charge you don't recognise, please email us before contacting your bank. Charges from us appear on statements as STROKI. A subscription bought on your iPhone appears as APPLE.COM/BILL instead, alongside anything else you've bought from Apple that month.
We can usually resolve it the same day, and a direct refund is faster for you than a chargeback, which takes weeks to settle.
Your statutory rights
Nothing on this page limits any refund or cancellation rights you have under the consumer law where you live. Where those rights are stronger than this policy, they apply.
