Talk to a human

Email hello@stroki.ai and a person reads it. We aim to reply within one business day, and we answer questions about bugs, billing, feature requests, and anything else.

There is no ticket number, no chatbot, and no support tier. It is a small team.

Nous Labs LLC, 45 Randolph Rd, White Plains, NY 10607, United States. Written enquiries can be sent to that address, though hello@stroki.ai reaches us faster.

Setting up the keyboard on iPhone

Stroki dictates through its own keyboard, so iOS needs you to turn it on once:

  • Open iOS Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard, and choose Stroki.
  • Tap Stroki in that list and turn on Allow Full Access.
  • In any app, hold the Globe key, pick Stroki, tap the pill, and speak.

Full Access is what lets the keyboard reach Stroki's own storage — your vocabulary, your plan status, and the speech model. The keyboard makes no network connections and never transmits what you type. Without it, iOS blocks that shared storage and dictation cannot run.

Dictation isn't working on iPhone

Work down this list; it is ordered by how often each one turns out to be the cause.

  • Check Allow Full Access is still on — an iOS update can reset it.
  • Check the microphone permission: iOS Settings → Stroki → Microphone.
  • Make sure the first-run model download finished. Open the Stroki app and it will resume on its own if it did not.
  • Some apps refuse third-party keyboards entirely, and iOS never allows one in a password or other secure field. That is a platform rule and not something Stroki can override.
  • If the pill appears but nothing lands, force-quit the app you are typing in and try once more.

Still stuck? Email hello@stroki.ai with your iPhone model and iOS version and we will work it out with you.

Fix it and Change are missing, or greyed out

Those two buttons, and AI summaries for recaps, run on Apple Intelligence. They appear only on iPhones that support it — iPhone 15 Pro and later — and only when Apple Intelligence is turned on in iOS Settings.

On any other iPhone the buttons are hidden rather than broken. Dictation itself is unaffected and works on every iPhone that can run the app: that runs on Stroki's own speech model, not on Apple Intelligence.

Change is also a Pro feature once your trial ends.

Dictating on Mac

On Mac there is no keyboard to install. Stroki sits in the menu bar and types wherever your cursor already is, from one key:

  • Hold Right Option, speak, then release. Best for a sentence or two.
  • Or tap Right Option once, speak for as long as you like, and tap it again to finish.

Right Option is the default. You can move it to Left Option, Right Control, Right Command, or fn in Settings → Hotkey, and the change applies to your next recording.

The menu bar shows Ready, along with the key to hold, once the speech model is loaded.

Dictation isn't working on Mac

Again in order of how often each one is the real cause.

  • Grant Accessibility. macOS needs it before Stroki can see the hotkey at all or type into other apps: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility → Stroki. Without it the key does nothing whatsoever, which is the single most common cause.
  • If you granted it while Stroki was running, quit Stroki and open it again.
  • Grant the microphone: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → Stroki.
  • Using fn? Its behaviour depends on the keyboard, and on some it never reaches an app. Switch to Option or Control in Settings → Hotkey.
  • Using Right Command? It can collide with macOS shortcuts while held. Option or Control are calmer choices.
  • Just switched engines? The new one loads before it can transcribe. Wait for the menu bar to say Ready.

The first download

On iPhone, the first time you run Stroki it fetches its speech model, roughly 464 MB. That happens once. After it lands, dictation runs entirely on your device and needs no network connection at all.

If it stalls, put the phone on Wi-Fi and reopen the app — it picks up where it stopped rather than starting over.

On Mac each engine has its own model, and they differ in size, so choosing an engine you have not used before downloads that one first. Everything after the download is local there too.

Signing in

You can sign in with Apple, with Google, or with an email link. The link is single-use and expires after fifteen minutes.

  • No email? Check spam, and make sure the address matches the one you first used.
  • Link expired or already used? Request a new one.
  • Signing in on a second device is expected. One account covers your iPhone and your Mac.

Your account exists so your plan and your trial follow you between devices. Creating one starts a 14-day trial of Pro that runs once per account, so reinstalling or signing in somewhere new does not start a second.

I paid and Pro hasn't appeared

On iPhone, open Stroki and tap your avatar at the top of the screen to open Account. Your plan is re-checked every time the app comes to the foreground, so this is usually enough.

If it still shows the free tier, open the upgrade screen and tap Restore. That asks the App Store directly instead of trusting anything already cached.

Make sure you are signed into Stroki with the same account, and into the App Store with the same Apple Account you bought it on. A subscription bought on one Apple Account cannot move to another.

On Mac, your plan lives in Settings → Account and is re-checked whenever Stroki comes to the foreground. If it still shows the free tier, confirm you are signed in with the same Stroki account you bought Pro on.

If none of that works, email hello@stroki.ai — include the Apple Account email you purchased with and we will trace it.

Subscriptions, cancelling, and refunds

Everything about billing lives on the refunds and cancellation page: how to cancel, our 30-day refund on web purchases, and how App Store refunds work.

The short version: cancelling stops the next renewal and never deletes anything you have made. If Apple took the payment, Apple issues the refund.

Deleting your account

On iPhone, open Stroki, tap your avatar at the top of the screen, and choose Delete account. That removes your account and the data attached to it.

The Mac app has no delete button yet — it can only sign you out. Delete from the iPhone app if you have it, or email hello@stroki.ai and we will do it for you.

Cancel an active subscription first, from your Apple Account subscription settings or our billing portal. Deleting an account does not cancel billing on its own.

Your transcripts, recaps, and vocabulary live on your device rather than on our servers, so deleting the app removes them with it.

Privacy

Speech recognition runs on your device and your audio is not uploaded. The privacy policy sets out exactly what an account holds and what it does not.

Bugs and feature requests

On Mac, the quickest route is Settings → Help & Feedback inside Stroki. A report sent from there arrives with your app version, your macOS version, your Mac's model, and the engine that was active already attached — which is most of what we would otherwise have to write back and ask for.

By email, bugs go to reportbug@stroki.ai and feature requests to feedback@stroki.ai. For a bug, the useful details are your device, your OS version, and what you were doing — screenshots are welcome and a screen recording is better.

Feature requests genuinely get read and several shipped features started as one. Telling us why you want something helps more than telling us what to build.
